Girls Love Girls

A few months ago somebody ran a poll on the British Spanking forum, asking girls about their sexual orientation. Back then I replied:

I voted for “I’m a happy bisexual spanking girl”, even though I’ve never actually had sex with a girl. I just know that sometimes, sooner or later, I will. What’s the word, “bi-curious”?

I’d forgotten all about it, and then the thread resurfaced, as they do, and I smiled to myself as I typed an ammendment: this isn’t correct any more. I’m no more bi-curious, but properly bisexual.

My (status? identification? self-knowledge?) changed in the months since I’ve started this blog, but you haven’t heard about it, because where in all things spanking I can chatter on for hours, matters of sex are so intimate and secret, that my fingers go numb on the keyboard, and my mouth melts shut. And anyway, it’s a beautiful story, but it’s not just my story to tell.

Still, I read this account from Sexy UK Girl, and it made me feel warm, and nod in recognition:

I had my first sexual experience with a woman. It was amazing, mind blowing, perfect, it was so natural, even better than I ever imagined it could be. [...] I think we both feel strong and confident with each other, almost aggressive or at least assertive. She is smaller than me, but she has bigger boobs. Her body is so fine, curvy and womanly, she totally turns me on.

Well, that sounds like fun. I hope she talks more about it, because I’m invested in her story now, by proxy. And her pictures are perfect, too.

Some Spanking Video Advice, Please?

I have taken a fancy to see a spanking film in French. I may not speak the language very well, but I’m sure I’d find a scolding in French hot – and if the top happened to have an embarrassing lower-class accent, or be rubbish at dialogue, I wouldn’t know. That would be an advantage.

I’m not aware of any French spanking companies. Would anybody care to enlighten me? Surely, they exist? Spanking may be le vice anglais, but the phrase itself isn’t exactly English…

The Male Pornographer

I was reading an interview the writer Susie Bright did with Bacchus of ErosBlog, and one of the perfectly vanilla things he said turned me to thinking about spanking porn. (That’s how things usually are with me.) Anyway, he said:

One thing that got me started sex blogging was the dire fact that most male-authored sex sites on the Internet (especially 3+ years ago) were “written” by pornographers of that misogynistic old “cunt bitch slut whore” bent— or by long-term customers of theirs who absorbed that leering peepshow mentality before they ever got out of high school, and then never grew up. [...]

Finding a healthy, friendly male appreciation for women and sex in commercial pornography is hard. A lot of guys in porn— perhaps a lot of guys generally— just seem broken when you consider their views of women.

Now, my experience of non-spanking porn is necessarily limited by the fact I hardly ever watch any of it, but I’ve conversed with the guy-pornographers enough to sigh and shake my head at what Bacchus had to say. Yep, they sure can be unpleasant in their bizarreness.

Now, interestingly, this hasn’t been my experience in the spanking industry: every guy I’ve worked with or for has been as perfectly wholesome as any pervert has a right to be; in fact, I can’t think of any I wouldn’t want to play with for pleasure if they landed in my living-room. But I’ve heard enough on the Models’ Gossip Line to know that what Bacchus calls “the leering peepshow mentality” is not entirely absent from the spanking industry too. We’ve got some, uh, interesting ones, too.

I think, there are two ways guys arrive at making spanking porn. There are the guys into spanking who decide to shoot the films they want to watch – either because nobody else is doing it quite right, or because they are creative, or whatever. Pornographers they may be, but there’s not a thing “broken” about them.

And then there are the folks who start out as vanilla pornsters, and then they move into making spanking films by way of expansion, conquering new markets, or whatever. And boy-oh-boy, you can hear some wonderful things from them about female anatomy, never mind female psychology.

I guess, my point – if I have a point – is that spanking industry, for all its potential to breed mysoginists and woman-beaters, doesn’t do that. They come in from the outside. Our own kink-bred guy pornographers are remarkably gentlemanly overall. Aren’t we lucky?

Metamorphoses of Spanking in Mainstream Media

I have spent my evening going through the fabulous free gallery of spanking moments from mainstream cinema and television that’s hosted over on Discipline Domestique Online. (The site’s in French, but even my rudimentary self-taught French was enough to savour the good stuff.)

Something I noticed, particularly about the television extracts, is the change of ethos between how the spanking scenes between couples were served up umpty-ump years ago, and how they are done now.

In the old clips (“I love Lucy”, “The Saint”, “Frontier Gal,” “Kiss Me Kate”) the idea behind a spanking seems something like this: “The girl won’t behave. I’m her man (or would like to be her man). I guess I’ll give her a good, hard spanking over my knee, which will change everything. Isn’t this great fun for the neighbours?”

In the new clips (“Ally McBeal”, “Joey”, “Scrubs”) the idea is more likely to be like this: “One of us makes spanking hints, or even admits to liking spanking. It’s mighty weird. Everybody laugh now.”

I don’t actually like either approach very much, but the variant, where we’re encouraged to deal with the oddness of kink by laughing at it, is slightly less pleasant than the first.

The lucky exception is the clip from “Two Pints of Lager”, where a couple is enjoying a little spanking scene, and a friend who walks in on them doesn’t care *what* they do, as long as they don’t get in the way of her studying.

And, of course, there are clips that deal with things other than couples relationships. I particularly enjoyed extracts from “Frank and I”, “Halfway House” and “By the Sword Divided”. (If somebody can tell me what the father is using in that one, I’ll be forever grateful. He doesn’t seem to carry anything, but his hand makes swishing strap-like sounds every time it descends, plus the punishment is supposed to be such a big deal –a hand-spanking over a hundred layers of clothing doesn’t seem quite adequate.)
