Safe Porn Disposal
Trixie over on The Wandering WebWhore gave me a pause for thought this morning:
How come so many people worry about the appropriate way to rid a household of a ouija board but no dire warnings have ever been issued about centerfolds being sent to the landfill only to find themselves RIGHT BACK IN YOUR HOUSE, this time under a child’s mattress!?!
Never mind the kiddies. I suspect, the local tip would be a great place to score some free porn, if you were particularly broke and desperate. I doubt you’d be lucky enough to get the material that caters to your particular kink, though. And don’t ever admit it to anybody. “Oh, I dug this out of the bin” just doesn’t make a great pulling line.
Anyway, Trixie’s post reminded me that I have a serious clutter problem where spanking videos are concerned. We don’t even have a VCR any more, but the old tapes remain. Most of them are charmingly awful, a few are OK; some of them - such as old Lupus tapes sold to us by Soho pirates way back when - have been replaced by legitimate DVDs.
All of them will have to go one of these days. I feel physical pain at the idea of throwing out so much porn. I don’t want to sell it, either, because so much of it is such rubbish I’d feel bad taking money for it.
Perhaps, there should be a charity for those in need of old spanking porn. A community bin, where you could throw your old unwanted tapes, and people who still have working VCRs can fish them out, and be appalled anew.
I guess, I’ll hold onto it for another little while.

I remember a poignant story told to me by someone had sold some old Janus mags to.
He had realised early in life that he was a spanko and had saved up hs pennies to - every so often - buy the latest spank mag from his newsagent.
One Sunday afternoon when he was in his early twenties (and with a very select spanking porn collection), he accompanied his father to the local dump with a collection of boxes and bags from their loft.
As he dropped the last box into the skip it burst open revealing its contents - hundreds of old Janus editions and other early spanking publications - worth a small fortune. He watched uselessly as the jaws of the crusher swallowed them.
At once he knew two things: that his dad was a spanko too, and that he’d just watched the disappearence of a wonderful collection.
I met him when he was in his 50s and he was still rebuilding his collection.
Bill - but that sounds like taking action, rather than sitting around and thinking about it! Doing something is so not me! (good idea, though)

You could lend them to spankos that haven’t seen them yet by post. Sort of like a book-lending program, only not as organised as a library: just send them out into the scene and tell people to pass them on. They’ll get seen by people who’ll appreciate them and they’ll stay within reach should you ever want to retrieve them. You could even set up a page to keep track of their travels, sort of like bookcrossing.com.
