This is quite formal and savage, really - almost English! It does seem to be in Italian and I thought originally it might be the famously sadomasochistic French children's story "Les Petites Filles Modeles". But it appears it's "Swiss Family Robinson". Which is weirder because in the book the adored mother is quite meek and mild, whereas in LPFM it's yer typical cruel stepmother who whips the little girl. What she's done I'm not sure but it might well be let a calf fall down a cliff as in an episode that might be the next one she rescues it heroically despite not being able to sit down unsurprisibgly! They all appear to forgive one another too which is amazing in my book.
Lovely blog Adele - I got here via CH Ross - he's the boss! But you add a delightful feminine touch.

OMG I was a kid when I first saw this cartoon (in italy was something like "the island of little Flo") and I also was in that feeling, A mix of anxiety and pleasure :p

It's the spectators that get my heart pumping. I can relate to their reaction. They can't believe what they're witnessing, that they don't want to look, and yetthey want to look. They can't help themselves. They're owned by the scene.

Very interesting....

The accuracy of the scene had me staring you might say.....I even wrinkled my nose when the lecture began...it might be in a foreign language but still knowing there is a lecture while you are in position makes me cringe.

Nice find!

I don't know how old that scene is, but it looks very much like one my ex-girlfriend once described to me. She saw it as a child (which means it must be older than, say, 1995 - she is in her early twenties now) and it made a big impression on her.

Thanks for that scene, I'll show it to her when I see her again. She's been looking for it for ages.
