Trip - "Subtle energies"? I was referring to allowing the spine to decompress in a way similar to what our ancient primal ancestors would do when they hung from their tails.

Tigerbutt,

I see your point as to the counter-poses. You're suggestig that inversion totally reverses the flow of the subtle energies? I can see that. Still, I'd think it dangerous.

Trip - Not so! The positions you mention are still compressive in nature and will not stretch the vertebrae and other joints as suspension will. Think about it.

Lancisto - A more affordable (yet still expensive) method would be to charter a plane to do the series of zero gravity dives simulating weightlessness that astronauts use as practice.

You need to get yourself into orbit, Adele (though of course we all know that you're out of this world already). Just think of the fun to be had with weightless whippings.

On the downside, however, there are all the "subspace" puns.

Anti-gravity yogs is an oyymoron. The only positions you need to practice, after a preparatory set, in yoga are head-to-knee, plough, shoulder-stand and headstand. The first stretches the spinal collumn, the next two put pressure on the pituitary, and the last reverses the flow of energy in the body. All four, after am initial preparatory set for relaxation, also create a very specific tension (hence. the necessary counter-poses after each one). To just hang by your feet for this purpose is simply asinine.

Still, many dungeons do have equipment for hanging slaves by their feet for a whipping or flogging. These do serve their very legitimate purpose. The certainly would greatly benefit anyone who would otherwise consider anti-gravity yoga.
