Hmm, the thing with technology is, the better it gets, the easier it is for any Tom, Dick or Harry to produce professional results. Then, once the technology has become cheap enough and everyone can do it (read: many can do it) the professional has to figure out some other way of setting themselves apart. And things can go full circle.

But maybe I am a bit ahead of the curve there - remember, you heard it here first... ;-)

Peter, I think Lupus are trying to make the best films they can with the resourses they have. "Best" defined by what _they_ see as the most important in a spanking film - meaning, solid storytelling and painstaking attention to detail in production.

Most of the amateur videographers I know dream about improving their picture and sound; the only people who actively try to look like amateurs are professional pornographers :)

Hi Adele,
I've recently come across your blog, good stuff, as a blogger I thought I'd 'feed' you a comment... ;-))

Re: your first para to this review: what's going on with Lupus, do you know, regarding the effort they put into their film-making / story telling? Are they trying to make the CP genre more mainstream? Or are they trying to use the CP genre as a springboard to produce more mainstream stuff? Just out of interest, y'know.

It's a funny thing, but when you look at these Lupus films, once you get over the novelty of seeing a beautiful young girl stripped bare and so soundly punished on her poor bottom amidst production values you'd more normally associate with a mainstream TV episode of Casualty (although I do Lupus a disservice there!;-) I'm not sure that the early Rigid East material isn't actually more erotic. I guess it depends what you are in to... the wobbly, hand held camera work and dodgy sound quality certainly gives it a more voyeuristic, edgy feel, an innocence abused. Maybe things are going full circle, with the growing puplarity of social media (youtube etc.) and now professional production values trying to emulate the amateur shakiness, in seach of street-cred?

Anyway, thanks for the blog, keep it up! ;-))

It's a satellite subscription channel broadcasting from 13°E to Europe.
I think they obtained the assets of the now defunkt ULTRA BLUE channel which I subscribed to and watched "The Crime at St Thomas School" from Lupus many years ago.

There's a TV channel that specialises in spanking?!?!? And they are showing Lupus videos on it? Where do you live? I think I should move there. In England they are illegal to import (though not to download or own, thank God).

I watched most of this film for the first time last night, in its original Czech language (which I don't understand) and without subtitles, without being able to follow the plot at all. However, because it was being shown by a TV channel that specialises in a certain genre, I expected it to develop the way it did.
I spent most of this morning searching the internet for its title and a description of its plot, which I found here and elsewhere. So thank you for your review.
I was mesmerised by the punishment scene and kept muttering to myself "It's real, it's real"

Another benefit of the afore mentioned English class--an intense study of 'Brave New World'....now there's a plot rife with awesome spanking erotica material. :-)
