Enjoying a spanking shoot

I’ve rescued the following remark from the comments, where Niki Flynn said:

Shoots aren’t only for the people who watch them, you know.

In fact, I’m convinced that people on set enjoy spanking films far more than the viewers ever could. In the context of a shoot even the silliest, cheesiest vid becomes a special, distinct kinky experience that a viewer cannot share. I know which part made my heart beat faster, and which line was too good to pass up even though I’d get smacked harder, and which bruise is actually only there because I’d fallen on my ass ten minutes before the shoot. I know where the top leaned down to whisper: “Are you OK?” – and where I kicked a top in the knee-cap with the School Shoe of Doom. But as a viewer you get only the upper layer, the smack-ouch-smack-ouch of a film that may or may not be very imaginative or well done.

Unless, of course, you have a model sitting next to you as you watch it, exclaiming: “Ah! This is where I fell asleep in the corner!” or “Look-look-look, the paddle starting to crack – whoops, it’s broken”, or “Oh my God, I was so scared in this – see, where the pen is shaking?” – or if your DVD comes with outtakes.

Or maybe it’s just me. Maybe other people don’t actually care about anything but the action? Maybe it is me. But then, even in mainstream cinema my favourite part is “the making of” documentaries.

    Hi Adele,

What you’re saying here is absolutely true.
I’ve looked at my own videos on Women-Spanking-men, and I remember what I was thinking and feeling in each scene. There’s times that I laugh and others I cringe. But the viewers don’t really see that.

The same goes for the videos I shot when working for David Pierson on Punished Brats. When I viewed the footage I rememeber what I was thinking and what Pixie and David were saying in between takes. It’s a special set of moments that the typical viewer won’t see.

So yes, being a part of creating a spanking video or movie gives the cast and producers a much better outlook, than the average viewer will ever know or see when looking at our work.

    A great topic here, Adele.

    Love, Razor

Razor, dear, with the sort of thrashings you take, it would sure make me feel better to have a running commentary: I can’t even *imagine* what it feels like to have the back of your calves whacked. :)

    Good point here, Adele.
However if I start to run, then I will be beaten that much harder later.

The calves don’t really hurt that bad..it’s the backs of my thighs with a thick 10mm cane that really stings like a bastard.

As for commentary..when you see any of the material that I’m in, on WSM or PB, you’ll see what a chatter box I am..Lol.

Speaking as a Top/Dom i know exactly what you both mean albeit from a slightly different viewpoint. .

It’s bizarre but for the most part i remember very little of what happens during the actual filming itself. This is something that seems to upset a fair few people involved in what is described ( rather comicly in my view ) as ” the scene “.

For me the fun is about the whole package, subs/doms/cameramen/,writers/producers/directors, everybody basically in tune with the idea of contributing as best they can to creating the best work they can.

As lame as it sounds i cherish every moment of the process, i suspect because in life there are very few moments when you can fully and openly express yourself safe in the knowledge that you are amongst kindred spirits.

I don’t think it sounds lame at all, Vic – or if it does, then I’m quite lame as well. :) A shoot is definitely not just a spanking with a few cameras on, but a lot more besides. I’m sure it’s not true about working with every company, but if you pick who you work with and stick to the producers who are themselves kinky, there is more to take with you in the end of the day than a sore bottom (or, in your case, hand).
