The passage describes the only sort of relationship where I could – would wish to – submit. I can love a man as deeply as I love my sweet Mr. Haze; I can have a family life where I’m safe to experiment in any way that strikes me, and any number of spanking relationships with other guys. Yet, if I were to enter a secondary d/s relationship, it could only be with a woman. (If she wished to be a man, that would be OK, too.)
I haven’t thought about it much before, but reading this paragraph has made me painfully crave all of this: a pink leash, a steamy bath with a beautiful girl I could wash, crazy gender games. I *want* it.
A slight complication is that in all my girly d/s fantasies I’m pretty much a straight-down-the-middle switch, with perhaps a slight leaning towards topping. If I did end up romping with a lovely girl, I’m not sure which end of the leash would attract me more. How does it work with switches? Do they set up a schedule as to who tops when? You can’t very well switch mid-scene. Or can you? In the spanking world I don’t really switch, so I’m remarkably ignorant of what works and what doesn’t.
That’s something to worry about later, if the opportunity ever does arise. For now, I’ll just sit here and quietly howl from the craving that’s gnawing at my insides.

I might be able to do that, but ordinarily, I don’t like to switch in the same scene — too hard to change headspace that way. If I’m going to do it at all, I have to top first and then bottom because topping comes less naturally to me.

You can switch any time you want. Mid-scene? Go for it! There aren’t any hard and fast rules here, just the ones you and your play partner agree on. I’ve heard of people who play a scene for dominance–whoever wins the wrestling match gets to be the top, for example. And then if the bottom happens to overthrow the top-of-the moment, so be it. It sounds like a whole lot of chaotic fun, to me. I imagine that the sexual fluidity two switchy girls could find together would be quite–well, squishy.
