Happy Easter

That’s what this postcard says.

A Czech birching postcard

I have serious doubts that this girl’s stripes are anything other than crayon, but that’s OK.

(The postcard illustrates, of course, the Czech tradition of whipping attractive women at Easter time.)

Oh, but even if it’s only crayon, I’d volunteer to apply it.
And then she’d get the real thing over the crayon.

    Spanks* for the Easter Buns!

Umm…sounds like they’re raisin’ more than chickens in that country.
Who needs eggs, when you got a lovely pair of buttocks to “stripe.”

    Happy Easter, to you, Adele!

    xx,Res.

    So why Easter ?

My guesses : Is a “Traditional Easter whipping,” intended to check mischievious impulses fed by the spring weather ? Or maybe the custom remains as the last reminder of the “Golden Age of Spanking” when ALL holidays where celebrated with spankings ?

Please tell me you know, Adele. :)

It’s an old tradition here in CZ. It was believed, that whipping by special cue-like bundle of sticks on easter-time makes women stay young and beautiful. Males go from door to door and whip young women. Moreover, they are always awarded by some little present (traditionaly it were decorated eggs, but now it’s mainly snifter of some spirit).
