Sadomasochism on Broadway

A boy paws a girl in 'Spring Awakening' - from 'Spanking Model Speaks'My reader Eric sent me a link to an article about a new Broadway musical called “Spring Awakening”. Apparently, it deals with such theatre-friendly topics as “incest, sadomasochism and rape.”

I shouldn’t imagine it goes into any detail about either of these: can you imagine it not getting banned otherwise?

The article says:

“The musical does feel daring — especially in a scene when a girl asks a boy to beat her and another that offers a gleeful number about masturbation.”

It never says whether the boy *does* beat her when she asks him to. Anybody care to venture to Broadway and tell us just how daring it really is?

Hey, no, I didn’t! Sounds like a research trip.
