Sometimes, you just need to throw a tantrum

I’m in a sulk today, munchkins.

If everything was going as it should, I was supposed to be in Bratislava today, shooting for Pain4Fem with Pandora. But I couldn’t go because of a) visa complications, b) stupid dental surgery.

This is a third consecutive shoot that I’ve had to cancel in the recent months, and it’s making me cautious to even book shoots any more. It’s embarrassing to write to people and say “I’m sorry, I can’t come because” whatever, even if the reason is serious.

Sigh. I hope this stretch of bad luck will remain in 2008.

I feel like pitching a prima-donna fit, and then hopefully being hauled over a dashing man’s knee to teach me some manners.

EDITED TO ADD: Before anybody arrives at the wrong conclusions: it wasn’t me that cancelled three shoots in a row. I cancelled one, the second one got cancelled by the producer, and the third never got scheduled due to clashes in availability. Still, I would have very much liked to do all three…

Yes, sometimes pitching a fit, and then getting the spanking you deserve for it is the only way to clear emotions out of your system! Or so I think, anyway! ;)

Good luck with resolving the vias and dental matters. Even excellent and responsible models, such as yourself, have bad patches where they have to cancelt some shoots. It just happens, and any professional photographer shouldn’t hold it against you (sometimes they have to cancel shoots, too!)

Visa troubles? Dental issues? It appears that our lives run parallel, Adele.

I would threaten to spank you, but you’d have even more visa issues getting here 8-|

Best of luck to you! Hopefully you’ll be feeling better.

Don’t be so hard on Yourself! sh*t happens! its called the human condition. Everyone inside and out of this industry knows YOU ARE A PROFESSINAL! I’v had Models cancel at the last minute, and for reasons like Yours. I’v never held it against them. And besides when They do make Their make-up shoot, They always give a littel extra! I don’t know if this really fits here but I once heard an expresion that always stuck with Me {patiences is a virgin fuc*ing bitch

How come you need a visa to get into Slovakia? Is it because you’re not an EU citizen?
Still, never mind. Eastern Europe must be pretty chilly in January. I’d save your bottom for when the climate is a little warmer. Unless this cold weather was the reason for getting a bottom scorching, of course.

    Yeah, Steve, that’s why.

Oh well. A day off is a day off.

I wish you could have been there. Next time? I wanna go again :) xx

(A-hem!) There is no excuse, Adele, and your absences and tardiness will have to be punished!

I can sympathise. Interestingly, I had to cancel exactly three shoots myself in the past half year. Two of these cases were postponements by the producers (I imagine one of them was with the same producer who cancelled your shoot, too). The third one was a shoot I had to cancel myself because there was unexpected business / a date clash on my end.

It’s a bummer, but the only proper response (for a top, who cannot throw an uncontrolled and ungentlemanly tantrum) is to just soldier on and not lose heart. It’ll all come to fruition eventually. As for me, the projects are still on, I’m optimistic that they will all work out in the not-too-distant future, and I’m determined to put even more of an effort into them and make the final results even better after the postponements.

Anyway, my condolences to you, but like I said: stay upbeat, don’t lose heart. Exercise a little patience – hey, even a twisted girl like you must have at least *one* virtue! And if you don’t, I’m sure Mr. Haze won’t mind beating it into you.

Besides, you can always console yourself with the fact that at least you’ve done plenty of stuff already, while I have done zilch. The postponements are even harder to take when you’re a newbie and you’re itching to do your first shoots. In my usual German pessimism, I keep thinking that I’ll probably be overrun by the bus or something before I get my first proper film done, and then I’ll be gone without having left anything of value.

Don’t get run over by a bus, Ludwig! Spanking videos need handsome young tops, so take good care of yourself *at least* until you’ve made one video. More than one would be even better.

Niki will have to teach Ludwig between being run over and being overrun. (More pedantry…)

  12. Ludwig on January 12th, 2009 2:20 pm

Being quite a pedant myself, I noticed that as soon as I had posted it. When you’re not a native speaker, oversights just creep in every now and again even though you actually know better…

Yeah, Adele, I’ll try to be careful. No “overrunning” by the bus for me.
