Yes, though not a dedicated spanking machine, a robot capable of spanking could be considered such a machine.
A more revealing question, that I first asked on Pandora’s blog, is if you had a spanking machine at home, would you use it?
Another question I have is how should it be programed? Swats per minute for X minutes to explore or exceed your own pain threshold, or just plain old number of licks as with a school paddle tipped machine?
Designing, assembling and using your own machine gives a whole new meaning to the term “do it your-selfer”. (yuk-yuk! I crack myself up! Wait, there I go punning again!)
I wouldn’t use it if I was home alone; I really need a sapient creature on the other end of the stick.
However, if I was playing with somebody else, and we happened to have such a machine handy, and I was sentenced to a “punishment from the machine”, then I would be happy to use it. Like another implement, you see, not a substitute for a partner.
Well, although Pandora hasn’t answered directly yet, her posting on her self bondage shoot with Chimera leads me to believe she would answer the same way. I think Niki might use it but only if there was a way to synchronize a camera to it. I would be curious enough to try it but would want access to an emergency cut off switch of some kind, lest my rotting corpse be discovered with my primitive steam powered machine still in gear, prime material for the Social Darwinism Award!
“I really need a sapient creature on the other end of the stick.” My feelings exactly, Adele. A spanking machine is a fun little gimmick. Several movies have been made around the theme, including the latest one by Pain4Fem. But it just doesn’t have the psychological appeal of a scene with two real people, one spanking the other.
What would appeal to me about a spanking machine would be the ability to spank myself, ie, I press a button once and I get one spank. I *love* the idea of a camera attached so I could see how red I’m getting. I can see a potential story where the spankee had to punish herself with the machine while the spanker watched…talk about establishing self-discipline!
When I read Robots of Dawn by Isaac Asimov it got me thinking about this. It involves a robot that’s lifelike in every way that it’s owner gets sexually involved with. Drama and plot twists ensue. But since so much was made of the laws of robotics that states that a robot cannot harm a human, it of course got my kink filled brain wondering if I’d fry it’s brain trying to satisfy myself.
I’ve probably had more self sessions than I’d care to admit (and I can’t believe that I am admitting it) since partners were not always available and/or willing. A spanking machine would probably get used if I was left alone with it for too long.
