The Mystery of Spanking Models’ Names

The still above is from a Miss Marchmont production “That’ll Teach’em” (a great little piece of schoolgirl spanking cinema – here’s a review – but this isn’t what I want to talk about right now). A thread has cropped up on the British Spanking Forum, in which a poster wanted to know the screen name of the model on the left.
The answer is that nobody knows. The girl in the middle is Nicky Montford, the girl on the right is Yasmin Garcia, the teacher is Miss Brown, but nobody knows the third girl. Even the help of Lucy McLean and Leia-Ann Woods, two models who know just about everybody in the British professional spanking scene, didn’t turn up anything. Even Yasmin, who was in the same video, couldn’t remember her screen name.
Something I noticed when I first started watching spanking videos is that models were hardly ever credited. You got the name of the production company, and the title of the video, but no “starring”, no acknowledgement, nothing. At most, you got the name of the character. For a viewer lack of credits is annoying, because tracking down other works by a model you like becomes an exercise in private investigative techniques. The same reasoning works for the model: how are you supposed to establish your name in the scene when your work isn’t signed with it?
This state of affairs has changed a lot recently. (I’m not sure how this has started to come about, though people who claim to be experts in the history of the British scene say that some of this is due to Rosaleen Young relentlessly building her brand, and insisting on credits on every turn. I don’t know if this is true: there were spanking models with “names” before Rosaleen.) I have certainly never had to even mention that I’d like to be credited – this was understood; Lucy McLean even advised that I needed a surname when I was thinking of being plain ole Adele. Still, there are odd things happening with models’ names.
For one thing, you might have noticed that some of the Real Spankings models have started to appear on other spanking sites – but they are called differently. Kailee has shot with Girls Boarding School, but she is now Christine. Betty is off to shoot with Shadow Lane this coming weekend, but she has had to ask for help to come up with a new name. Ms Burns has become Veronica Daniels. Why is that? Because Real Spankings cleverly claim ownership of all intellectual property produced by the model while she is under the contract, including the name of her character. The names of the characters also happen to be the only names under which their models are known, but this is by the by. Good luck tracking down your favourite Real Spankings girls.
Models are also known to change their own name for various reasons (hell, I’m often tempted), but that’s a subject for a different post.

This was a bug bear for me too hon which is why when we started the website (six years ago), all girls were credited be it on a simple photostory or a film. This was before Rosaleen was even of legal age to my knowledge! However, I hadn’t actually seen it done by other companies properly when we started doing it. Occasionally you’d see girls first names credited in old video films, but more often than not they weren’t credited at all. We felt that was unfair and it does prevent a lot of the old party conversations that would start along the lines of “Who was that girl in that film about the schoolgirls? You know the one…the girl with the blonde hair and the nice bum….” Cue a two hour heated discussion over which of the numerous blonde spankees in the world it could be :-(
I guess it helps when the creative mind behind a company is a model herself. Miraculously, all the annoying unfairnesses seem to disappear :)
As an aside: I didn’t realise Northern Spanking had been going for so long! Wow.
I’m sometimes tempted to change my name too. Can’t decide if it should be something easier to spell (Nikki, Nicky, Nicki, Nikkee, Nicchie) or harder. It might be fun to come up with the most unflattering possible name and see how it affects my career. Hildegaard von Shnortt or Uxlin Fuxlin or Wehinahpay Wassernaym.

Seems like in the long run, giving screen credit to the spanking actresses would be a win-win for everyone. Those that watch, would be able to easily figure out the name of anyone they really enjoyed. The actress could build a recognizable name, which could certainly help. And, the producers could also capitalize on that recognition.

Yes, you will be seeing more RS models shooting for other filming companies, especially after the first of the new year.
Now, very few film companies are willing to take an indivdual model to court because she might choose to use her scene name for another company. Now, Betty wanted another name because she no longer wishes to be associted with RS. So I convinced her to keep her first name and just create a last name instead. Hence, “Betty Blaze,” was born.
Adele, it is almost scary as to how much you and Betty look alike. I’m not kidding..She has blue eyes opposed to your big brown eyes and Betty is slightly taller by an inch or so. But, I swear you two could easily be sisters. Both of you have the same wonderful sassy & bitchy attitude, and you both look sexy as hell on camera. Plus, you two also sound the same in your dialogue and voice…to include the sound affects that you two make when you’re being strapped and paddled. The difference there of coarse, is that you have an upper class English accent and Betty has a U.S. North Eastern accent. Now try and campare that as to when I get excited or pissed off and raise my voice. You’ll hear my southern accent come out quite a bit..lol. I would so love to have the both of you lined up side by side for a spanking. Now that would be a dream.
Ok, back to cases here. It’s important that a spanking model maintains his or her original scene name. This is how we are reconized in the real scene and within the filming scene as well. I saw what Niki said, and I would not care to see her change her name. It would confuse the hell out of people. The name “Niki,” is not hard to spell. People need to understand and realize that. So niki, don’t you dare change your name. i’ll fly over with a flogger and my reformatory strap in hand to punish you with if you do entertain such a thought. Babe, you’re such a love just take little sips of your wine not big gulps..Lol. I’m only kidding..because the same applies to me when I have a Heineken in hand..lol.
Now, when I shoot for Punished Brats as a disciplinarian, I use my first name in real life, “John.” Most people in the U.S. spanking scene know me as Razor or as John. We added a last name “Ryan,” for PB as well. Most of PB’s scenes are domestic or academic. For me to be addressed as Razor just wouldn’t do. “Razor,” is an uncommon scene name that I created for RealSpankings. Now Shadow Lane is the 4th company for me to work for. So, we created a new name that coincides with my original two scene names. “Razor Ryan,” is how I will be credited on SL. This, way it is a new name and people will still reconize my name. The same with Betty Blaze. It just works out nicely for everyone to include us as well.
So, no one has anything to bitch about..and all will be well regarding scene names and so on.

Personally I think the idea of any company “owning” actor / model or performer’s names is really crappy. I heard something about RS’s policy of name ownership on one the other boards and it sounds really sleazy in a controlling sort of way, especially since it sounds like this policy wasn’t made clear to at least some of their models from the start and a number of them have been active on-line with their RS screen name for years.
It’s one thing if a model wants to change his or her name or have multiple ones for different sorts of roles — I can think of a lot of reasons why that might happen. But it seems quite another for a company to claim to own the name as well as any artistic product.
As to screen credits, I’m not sure when they started / which models or companies. But I’ve got some over 10 year old stuff from Shadow Lane with screen (and music) credits.
It seems like good practice for a company to give proper screen credit, given how often people are fans of specific models and want to collect all the films they’ve been in.
Sort of a bit off-topic now but in response Adele – Northern Spanking as a website first started life as http://www.actuallyspankingpix.com in 2000 borne under the same name as the London party club “Actually Spanking” run by Paul (where we first met!). Paul was a semi-pro photographer at the time and it was actually one of the first spanking sites on the net. (I believe it was less than 12 months behind SOL.) Way back then, there were two updates a MONTH with elaborate photostories of more than 400 super quality photos in each story. The first spanking club in Scotland started by us in 2001 was called Actually Spanking in Scotland (A.S.S.) We changed the name to Northern Spanking in 2003 – I think! – when we decided to make it independent from the London club.
However, Billy’s interpretation of how we came to be is much more entertaining and goes like this:
In 1702 Mr Albert Kennedy Esq. started “Ye Olde School for the Correction of Wayward Girls” who’s main motto was “Spareth the cane, spoileth the Girl”. In due course he was arrested and found to be in possession of many naughty lithographs featuring pictures of young girls being stripped and punished.
Needless to say, the school was closed down.
Almost three centuries later his great, great, great, great, great grandson Paul decided to take his ancestors idea and created “Actually Spanking”. Blah de blah. Then came parties, blah de blah then website.
Then he met Lucy and, over a bucket of sick held by their erstwhile geeky friend Billy, they formed a threesome of dynamic spanking power! And behold! The Northern Spanking Institute was born and all who came before it trembled and did make “Parp” noises from their bottoms!
Blah de blah. Blah de blah blah. Blah blah blah-ity blah.
David – It was Master Kain that Leia-Ann Woods asked and he had no idea. We managed to track down her real name, but not her screen name. :-)

Todd and Suzy – I agree completely; it’s to everybody’s benefit for models to be credited, and I’m not sure why not everybody sees this.
Razor – don’t you go giving away all your secrets before I interview you, mate, or I’ll send an army of Stealth Dommes after you. :) (BTW – I have an upper-class English accent, do I? LOL Thank you, darling, but in fact I have an accent of an Eastern European girl who’s lived among upper-class(ish) people in the North of England for a while. But it’s nice to know I can get away with it in the States.)
Mija – Shadow Lane, from what I know of them, are an example of an ethical American company, much helped by having a woman in charge. A bit like Northern Spanking over here. Now, I’m not going to claim that women are generally all noble, walk on water, and never to do bitchy thing to their fellow models, but they do seem to be really good to installing a semblance of fair play when they come to run spanking companies.
Lucy – Billy needs his wee bottom belting! LOL That was hilarious. You need to put it on the site somewhere. OK, maybe you just need to put the actual history on the site somewhere, because I know there’ll be bright minds who might believe the Billy version!
Crediting models: I started doing interviews with talent to address this. When I first started writing for SPREVIEW you’d find a model called ‘Angel” for Pacific Force and Angie Sunshine for Shadow Lane. A certain company in LA was known to threaten models should they work for another company. Rosaleen helped turn this around. Now we all know Samantha Woodley, Niki Flynn, Sierra Salen and Pixie are.
Strange that Master Kane AKA Karl Strong doesn’t know the name of that model. He directed her in that video, and ‘A Newgate Tale’.

Actually, Girls Boarding School (at least in my experience) insist on giving their girls a unique name that differs from their stage name. I was told when I arrived that my GBS name was Paulina, and that was what they called me all day. I didn’t question it at the time, but they can’t have the same policy as Real Spankings because Sophie takes her name with her wherever she works – although perhaps she’s the exception to the rule?
It’s not unique, though. I was shooting with SOL on Wednesday and they decided that my name should be Penny, not Pandora. I kicked up a bit of a fuss because the publicity is always nice, but they said they’d credit me, it was just that Pandora isn’t an appropriately schoolgirly name. Apparently!
Master Kain cannot remember, that is the problem!! He is great, but has the memory of a goldfish!!!! He would have ot look at the model release forms, which I believe are in lucy Bailey’s possession. I am guessing therefore she is the best bet to know, however good luck getting in contact with her!

Pandora – interesting about GBS as I didn’t know Tom & Sophie did that, though it can’t be the same for all girls. When Amy went to work for them they kept her name as Amy Hunter as it’s always been, unless it’s a pretty new thing for them. Poor you already having three different names though!(looking forward to meeting you next weekend hon!)
Lucy – That’s odd. Maybe they just didn’t like Pandora either. What’s wrong with my name? I think it’s rather appropriate, actually; the woman responsible for the downfall of man, and all that…

Pandora- I don’t think there is anything wrong with your name and I would never ask a girl to change her name anyway. When I first came into this scene there were less than 20 girls in it. Now there are easily over 100. So it’s become even more important that girls have an identity of their own.
In fact, so dedicated to the cause of girls getting recognition where it’s due, I think we’ve only ever shot one film where the girls used character names instead of their own names and that was called “Goldilocks and the Three Bare Bottoms” so we couldn’t really have Goldilocks called Amy or Red Riding Hood called Jadie! (But all the girls were credited with character and screen name in the credits!)
Oo-er. Feeling all anxious now. Why on earth would someone specifically want to meet me?!
Adele – my apologies for taking over your blog/thread/thingummy and turning into a chat room! The Billy version of our story is actually on the “About Us” page at the moment on NSI version 2 (we might get it live one day, stranger things have happened!). He wrote funny stuff just as “holding” paragraphs on all the pages until I got around to writing the “proper” sections, but I just can’t bear to change this page. It amuses me greatly. The bucket of sick is true though.

Saw this vid recently when i was at the same place as Yasmin and thought it was fantastic. I think ‘Miss Brown; is brilliant anyway but the girls were fab and the atmosphere was totally right.
I agreed on crediting for models too because the work that goes into it and the memorability of a good performance deserves some recognition, rather than being seen as a faceless wonder .

Sophie Fennington was (to my memory) the first spanking model who established a “brand” and a following..Started by appearing in Janus and then video productions for SFP – spanking for pleasure…Before DVD,s though….
The model in question is, as David has said, Amelia – Jane Rutherford who I have been photographing for over a year. She will be appearing in the next Janus..Her first films were with (unfortunately) spankaholics and she has now appeared with several production companies including Dallas and GBS

Hi Rod, so the mysterious “girl on the left” now has a name (stage name I assume), Amelia – Jane Rutherford. And you have been photographing her. But that is great!! I have admired her impeccable beauty since that video, and asked people for her name. I was now almost thinking that maybe she never did other films than this one, and never took a stage name…So I much look forward to see your pictures.
Stage names: I cant understand that Realspankings can own an actor’s stage name. A character name, yes. But when their actors add a last name to the first name they are known by in RS, it is no longer a character name. And no one has copyright to a first name. There are many Bettys and Kailees and Loris etc in the world, but not so many Betty Blaze.
GBS really should have both a character name and a stage name for their actresses by now.
Spanked Cuties dont give names at all I seem to remember!
RSI, portraying the same character in many vids, needs the actor to be identified as a character.
A company like Lupus makes only individual films, so they have casting lists like “Chambermaid: Norah Kristoff” and all is well taken care of.
