Your separation of spanking and sex Kinsey ratings totally resonated with me– I did the same when I filled this out the other day. I didn’t describe the reasons for the difference, though I think you’ve hit on a part of it for me, too. Even if our preferences are opposite.

As for To Kill a Mockingbird, is that the same conversation in which Atticus explains to Uncle Jack that he hopes he’ll never have to spank them? That’s what I remember about the scene– and that Atticus knew full well that Scout was eavesdropping the whole time. I also believe Calpurnia had hands like a board.
