Adrian – if you measure tawsing in strokes rather than in inches of bottom covered, I think this was kinda an OK tawsing :)

The tawse or strap is a lovely instrument if applied with care and a good aim. and its looks like your has been expertly applied. Only wish it had been me !!!

I would think that anything made of leather would be a damn sight less evil than something made of hard wood such as a hairbrush or those big American wooden paddles.
There am I commenting again – I actually have never been treated to a tawse, but I find that it looks so sexy, both the tool itself and the marks it leaves behind. That may be a naive reason to get one, but I want one real bad, I was in fact going to give one to my husband for Christmas this year. I can’t even imagine what the impact would be like, but I realize it’s a formidable instrument. I am a great affecionado of a belt, and I figured that would be somewhat similar although worse? I also don’t own a single spanking tool designed specifically for the purpose – between belts, wooden spoons (hate those!), and switches we’ve managed without them so far – but I think they have a great fetish value, and figured tawse might be a good start, especially with my newly discovered addiction to being punished on the palms of my hands.

Seriously, I struggle with processing the pain of the tawse. Doesn’t mean I don’t play with them, but I’ll still maintain they’re evil!
