The Town of Butts
Misc Perversions — By Adele on 3 October, 2006 11:07 pmDid you know there’s a place called Butztown, Pennsylvania? Seriously, there is. Who the hell named it?
(Also, there’s Prickwillow in Cambridgeshire and Cockermouth in Cumbria, but that’s getting way too vanilla for yours truly.)

and how, exactly, did you find this out? Did you get tired of looking “spanking” up in the dictionary?
Pennsylvania also has Intercourse and Blue Balls, but again, on the vanilla side.
Molly – Playing with Google Maps. :) I’ve now also discovered Butzville, New Jersey, and this is leaving me slightly concerned for the American nation’s mental health.
Ivar – Yikes. Just yikes :)
Adele – hehehe! We live near a little village called Hardisworthy… very appropriate, non? :)
And I’m sure it is. Very worthy, I mean :)
Also, let us not forget the villages of Nether Wallop and Over Wallop in Hampshire, but surely, everybody already knows about these!
You should look up the old name of Threadneedle Street in London sometime
Still a tad vanilla though
Oh, go on, what is it? :)
Gropecunt Lane ;-)
Err… didn’t that turn into Grub St. and then Milton St. rather than Threadneedle St.?
My ex is from Bethlehem , PA..right near Butztown.

I know there is a city name fuking somewhere in Europe. I think in Norway, Finland, or Sweden but I can not find it on google. It was on a Graham Norton episode I saw a few years back. I am not sure on the spelling however I distinctly remember Graham calling some tourism board and asking them what there was to do in “Fucking”. The person responded “It is very cold there and there is not much to do.” Or words to that effect.
Also Butz is the name of a somewhat famous (or extremely famous if you are from the Washington DC area as I am :-) *American* footballer (or fake footballer if you prefer). He retired about 15 years ago. But I seem to remember hearing that there was some kind historic significance in his past. In short (I know too late! :-) the town(s) were probably named after some significant Butz.
Finally I can not read a post about silly city/town names without mentioning my favorite “Accident Maryland” — located about 170 miles NW of Washington DC.
