    Duh, Adele, you are so slow. The ‘bear spanking’ refers to the age-old tradition of whacking a girl’s bottom with her teddy bear.

    In the olden days in forested regions (Canada, for example), fathers who used hairbrushes as their implement of choice used to spank with real grizzly bears for more serious offences. After a while, it become obvious that it was too diffcult to hold the girl into the right position whilst also lifting the grizzly into the air. And the Bears Union objected, too.
